Purchase of Two New Enclosing Machines From Promail Further Boosts TPF Direct’s Firepower

29 January 2005. TPF Direct, the transactional and direct mail arm of TPF Group, has added to its rapidly growing technological armoury with the purchase of two new Kalmar KC45 Rotary Suction Fed Envelope Inserters from Promail. The £250,000 investment takes TPF Direct’s total technology investment in the 18 months since launch beyond the £2m mark. TPF Group as a whole has invested more than £10m in total in new machinery over that period and has also just announced plans to invest at least £3m in new technology at its new West London premises. This ongoing investment programme signals the company’s intention to ensure that its ambitious expansion plans have the technical firepower to match.

The KC45’s each have a capacity of 12,000 envelopes per hour, and initial testing indicates that they will deliver production improvements of up to 50%. In addition to enhanced speed and efficiency the new servo-driven machines also provide major benefits in terms of rapid set-up times and a high level of flexibility.
